I have been a nurse for 14 years. My background includes Intensive Care (ICU), Home Healthcare, and clinical improvement. In the ICU, I took care of the sickest of the sick. I took care of patients and their families at their most vulnerable and often devastating time in their lives. In Home Healthcare, I was able to teach patients after they were discharged from the hospital. My goal was to keep patients from needing to go back to the hospital by teaching them about how to improve their health, adjust and improve their diet, and understand the medications they were taking. In clinical improvement, I work with doctors, nurses, and hospital administration to improve clinical performance, patient experience and outcomes, and quality and safety. I have advanced nutritional education focused on macro and micronutrients and vitamins and minerals. I have certifications as a certified personal trainer, ISSA Master Trainer, certified nutritionist, strength and conditioning coach, and more. I have been an athlete, coach, nurse educator, and mentor. I have a passion for teaching, coaching, and helping others.
My many years of providing care to countless patients in and out of the hospital have led me to turn my focus toward illness prevention and addressing modifiable risk factors. I want to help as many people as I can achieve healthy lifestyles that can and will prevent them from becoming a patient in the hospital due to a preventable illness. Inactivity, sedentary lifestyles, and poor eating habits contribute to many disease processes. I want to help people get active, healthy, and learn how to lower their risk of these diseases.
As a personal trainer, nutritionist, and registered nurse, I take all my knowledge and experience and apply it to helping people who want to make a change but either don't know where to start or need extra motivation to get there.
